Chapter 739

Bathed in the ethereal glow of the moonlight, his handsome visage was even more striking, and his eyes sparkled with a disarming charm.
He had an uncanny ability to impart a comforting sense of security and understanding.
A quiver ran through Stella’s heart. She realized that if she remained there any longer, she might succumb to the love he offered.
Snapping back to reality, she averted her gaze and said hastily, “I’ve left some food for you in the kitchen. If you’re hungry, feel free to eat. I’m going to rest now.”
Without waiting for a response, she made a hasty exit.
Matthew remained motionless, his eyes following Stella as she retreated. A smile graced his lips.
When he later entered the dining room and saw the food Stella had prepared for him, that smile widened.
As he savored the meal, the thought of Stella resting upstairs filled him with a sense of peace.
Once, living with her had been a mere dream, but now it was the reality.
Memories of Stella’s shyness danced in his mind as he relished the last bites of her delicious cooking. He ate his plate clean.
Just as he placed the utensils down, his phone buzzed to life.
The screen displayed Fernando’s name.
Matthew frowned.

“Mr. Clark, something bad happened to the Fairwa project!”
Stella awoke to daylight streaming through her windows.

After freshening up, she stepped out of her room and noticed Matthew’s door slightly ajar. She peeked inside, finding it empty.
A sense of unease nestled in her chest as she descended the staircase to find Erin busy in the kitchen.
“Mrs. Clark.” Erin greeted Stella, nodding respectfully.
Stella returned the nod and inquired, “Have you seen Matthew this morning?”
“No. Isn’t he in his room? I haven’t seen him yet.”
Confusion furrowed Stella’s brow.
She pulled out her phone. There was still no message from Matthew.
